Construction timesheet template by job and cost code
Hours by person, by job and by cost code, with the break taken off, overtime entered with its category, and a supervisor's initials on every row. The summary adds it up by worker and by job and code, so labour lands on the job it belongs to. The filled example is one week for the crew on our daily log example, and Monday's hours match that day's log. The preview below is that week.

Four steps to a working document
A row for each stretch of work
One row per person, per job. Someone who moves to another job at lunch gets two rows, so each job carries its own hours rather than an average.
Code it as you go
Pick the cost code from the list, the same codes as our cost code template. Leave the job blank for shop or travel time, and it adds up as not job time.
Overtime is your call, recorded
Enter the hours you are treating as overtime and pick a category. The sheet does not work overtime out: the threshold and the rate come from the employment standards where the work is done, and your agreements.
Approve every row
The supervisor initials and dates each row once checked. The Check column flags overtime with no category, overtime above the hours worked, and anything not yet approved.
This is a record of hours, not payroll. It does not apply rates, deductions, vacation pay or remittances, and filling it in does not make a pay period compliant with employment standards. Ask your payroll provider or accountant what your records have to contain where you work.
When the spreadsheet stops scaling
On the Pro and Enterprise plans, BuildersBridge records hours by crew member, day and job, and each person's hourly rate turns them into labour cost on that job. It does not hold cost codes, overtime or approvals on a time entry, and it does not run payroll; this sheet covers those parts.
See how it works in BuildersBridgeCommon questions
What should a construction timesheet include?
The worker, the date, the job, what the time went on, start and finish, unpaid breaks, the total, any overtime and its category, and who approved it and when. A cost code on each row is what lets the hours land against the right part of the budget.
Does the template calculate overtime?
No, on purpose. Overtime thresholds and rates are set by employment standards in each province and state and by your agreements, so the sheet records the hours you treat as overtime and the category, and works out regular hours from them. It flags overtime entered with no category.
Why one row per job rather than one row per day?
Because a day split across two jobs is two costs. In the example, D. Kaur works the morning of 18 Mar 2027 on the ensuite and the afternoon on the garage suite, and each job carries its own hours.
Is this a payroll record?
No. It records hours. It does not apply rates, deductions or remittances. Export or hand it to whoever runs your payroll, and ask them what your records must contain.
Does BuildersBridge track time?
Yes, on the Pro and Enterprise plans. Hours are logged by crew member, day and job, and turn into labour cost on the job using each person's rate. Time entries carry no cost code, overtime or approval, and there is no payroll.
Can I use it in Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload the .xlsx to Google Drive and open it with Sheets. The formulas, dropdowns and summary carry over.
